A solemn moment took place on Saturday, September 26, with the installation of the new child municipal councilors of Frasnes-lez-Anvaing. These young people, elected in their respective schools, took their oath during a ceremony attended by Eric Domb, founder-president of Pairi Daiza.
Eric Domb highlighted the importance of youth in preserving nature and biodiversity, stating: 'Nature does not protect itself; it is protected because we love it.' His inspiring speech captivated the assembly.
Angèle Leleux, a returning member from the previous year, then presented the activity report of the former Children's Municipal Council (CCE), emphasizing the rapid pace of events throughout their mandate.
The activity report for the 2025-2026 CCE, read by Angèle Leleux, detailed actions taken on the theme of 'animal welfare.' The young councilors worked on the five freedoms of animal welfare and created posters and a quiz to raise public awareness.
Throughout the year, the CCE participated in various activities, including visits to the wildlife rehabilitation center in Grammont, a workshop on pollinating insects, learning about bird banding with an ornithologist municipal employee, touring a horse farm, and visiting a cat sanctuary in Tournai.
A memorable exchange took place with children from the municipal council of Monts, in Touraine, during the Pentecost weekend. The young councilors discussed their roles and spent days at an amusement park and Terra Botanica in Angers.
The children expressed their satisfaction with their involvement, the variety of activities, and the enriching sessions with the senior CCA members. They thanked the Collège Communal, the municipal councilors, the administration, the speakers, and their facilitators, Martine and Amarelle, for their support.
