This measure will be applicable throughout the territory from September 29 to October 1. The City of Fleurus reminds residents of the rules in force and calls for the utmost vigilance, especially in natural and wooded areas.
Several prohibitions must be observed during this high-risk period: all open-air fires are forbidden, as are the use of sky lanterns and fireworks. The use of thermal weed burners by individuals is also prohibited. It is strictly forbidden to discard cigarette butts, burning objects, or pieces of glass in nature.
Fire prevention also relies on everyone's vigilance. By respecting these prohibitions and adopting good practices, each citizen contributes to preserving natural spaces and limiting risks to the population and ecosystems.
Barbecues have recently been observed, particularly in the Forêt des Loisirs. It is reminded that wood or charcoal barbecues are strictly forbidden on public property, including in this natural area. A simple ember, a spark, or a poorly controlled fire can be enough to start a fire and endanger the environment, residents, and emergency services.
