'Sentier 46', located near the RN50 and adjacent to residential buildings, has undergone refurbishment. This route, familiar to locals, provides direct access to the national road without a lengthy detour. While primarily for pedestrians, it is also used by cyclists.
Previously, the path consisted of dirt and overgrown grass, featuring several staircases that complicated passage, especially for the elderly, those with reduced mobility, or parents with strollers. These stairs have now been removed and replaced with a gentle slope to ensure easier circulation.
The work was carried out by John and Christopher, agents from the Public Works Department of the Commune of Pecq, with occasional assistance from colleagues. The project involved excavating the ground to a depth of 20 centimeters, creating the slope, installing geotextile fabric, replacing a drain for rainwater evacuation, and applying a semi-dry concrete mix finished with cement and lime powder for a durable surface.
These improvements aim to make travel more comfortable and safer for pedestrians, as well as for users with strollers or bicycles. Historically, this discreet passage was known as 'the lovers' path' before the Laurent Jorion area was developed.
The municipality is thus preserving a local heritage asset by adapting it to the current needs of its residents.
