Ongoing works for the future pre-RAVeL in Comines-Warneton are advancing significantly. Teams recently completed the profiling of the sub-base, an essential step for preparing, leveling, and stabilizing the ground to ensure a perfectly flat base. This phase is followed by the laying of the foundation, including the placement and compaction of aggregate materials, thereby ensuring the future path's strength and durability.
This development represents a major investment dedicated to active modes of transport, aiming to encourage soft mobility and daily travel on foot or by bicycle in a safe and pleasant environment for all users, including families, pedestrians, and people with reduced mobility (PRM).
The promotion of active modes addresses several crucial objectives: improving health and well-being by integrating daily physical activity, reducing stress, and maintaining fitness; protecting the environment by decreasing CO₂ emissions, noise pollution, and preserving air quality; generating economic savings by reducing fuel expenses for daily commutes; and finally, enhancing social connection and quality of life by providing a friendly, peaceful, and accessible meeting space.
Thanks to these fundamental technical steps, the route is taking shape day by day. The municipality thanks residents for their patience during the construction period.
