A new regional scheme to support the energy renovation of homes came into effect on October 1st, 2026 in La Louvière, offering loans to improve the energy performance of residences.

The comprehensive regional renovation support reform came into effect on October 1st, 2026. The new aid scheme targets projects that achieve a significant improvement in the energy performance of housing.
The conditions to be met are: housing with a G or F label must reach at least a D label after renovation; housing with an E label must reach at least a C label after renovation.
The grants awarded will be in the form of loans, the terms of which will be determined based on income and the energy savings achieved by the work. Two types of renovation loans via the Walloon Region are available: the Rénopack, which combines a zero % interest loan with a financial benefit calculated according to household income; and the Rénoprêt, a preferential interest rate loan based on income and without a financial benefit.
A home audit will now be required to access the loans. This audit identifies priority renovation work and establishes a coherent renovation path. The home audit will be part of the investments that can be financed.
