The City of Mouscron has begun replacing its old public bins with new models for selective waste sorting, installing 38 units throughout the area.

Municipal workers from the Cleanliness department are currently working to replace old public bins with models that allow for waste sorting. A total of 38 new units are being installed across the municipality.
Gone are the single-compartment bins where all waste was mixed! The new models have two distinct spaces: one for PMC packaging and the other for residual waste. This makes sorting easier, even when out for a walk or travelling in the city.
To carry out this operation, the teams from the Cleanliness department are removing the old bins and installing the new equipment.
These new bins aim to encourage street sorting and promote recycling. However, they must be used correctly! As a reminder, they are exclusively for waste produced in public spaces and cannot, under any circumstances, accept household waste.
The City of Mouscron thanks its teams for their work and counts on everyone's collaboration to make this initiative a collective success. This project is supported by Be WaPP and the Wallonia.
