The "A Surprise for Everyone" initiative, launched in 2025, has demonstrated the generosity of Frameries residents. The principle is simple: offer a surprise gift, whether an object or an experience, to individuals who may not often receive them during the end-of-year holidays. In 2025, over 200 gifts were collected and redistributed.
Gifts can include items in good condition such as books, games, care products, decorative items, or warm clothing. Last year, "experiences" were also gifted, like a theater or cinema evening, a restaurant voucher, or museum entry. The goal this year is to provide as many moments of joy and escape as possible.
Numerous partners are involved in the project, including the municipality, the CPAS, the Frameries Cultural Center, the Municipal Library, the Local Development Agency (ADL), the Frameries adult education school (EAFC), local merchants, and the non-profit organization Ardeyon.
Donations will benefit various associations and services such as Les Gentianes, Centre Kama, retirement homes, and the AMO of Mons. The operation aims to fill the gap for young and old alike during the festive period.
The collection of surprise gifts will take place from November 20 to December 13, 2026. Collection points include the Frameries Cultural Center (rue des Alliés, 41), the Frameries Municipal Library (rue de la Libération, 40B in La Bouverie), and the EAFC of Frameries (rue du 11 novembre, 2).
