The municipality of Frameries announces the definitive reopening of Franklin Roosevelt Street this Friday, October 16, 2026, marking the end of a comprehensive renovation project.

The construction on Roosevelt Street is nearing completion. Following work on underground utilities and the extensive efforts by construction companies to fully renovate the roadway, sidewalks, and parking spaces, road markings were applied this week. The definitive reopening of the street is scheduled for this Friday, October 16.
Following the renovation of Defuisseaux Street and the creation of the Parc de l'Agrappe, an entire neighborhood is gradually being renewed in Frameries. These projects, though sometimes lengthy, are aimed at enhancing the living environment for everyone in the lower part of the commune.
With the completion of the Franklin Roosevelt Street project, traffic will be restored to the conditions that existed before the works in the surrounding streets, also starting from Friday, October 16, 2026. Rue de la Victoire will no longer be a dead end and will resume traffic flow from Rue Sainte-Philomène towards Rue Franklin Roosevelt. The traffic direction on Rue de l'Enseignement will be restored from Rue Franklin Roosevelt towards Rue Désiré Maroille. Rue Désiré Maroille will regain its usual direction, from the intersection with Rue Alfred Defuisseaux towards Rue des Alliés. Rue Fabien Gérard will have its direction restored from Rue Alfred Defuisseaux towards Rue Désiré Maroille. Rue Maïeur Andry will be restored from Rue de l'Enseignement towards Rue Alfred Defuisseaux. The exit from the parking behind the Harmonie will have temporary signage to guide users back to their usual circulation habits. Rue de Lille will no longer be subject to one-way traffic or be a dead end; traffic will be permitted in both directions again.
The municipality reminds everyone of a few usage rules for the safety of all users. Parking spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility (PMR) can be used by anyone with a valid PMR parking card, clearly displayed in the vehicle. These spaces are not assigned to specific residents. Sidewalks must remain clear of any vehicles to allow pedestrians, people with reduced mobility, and strollers to circulate safely. Parking should be done in a way that makes the best use of available space without obstructing traffic or access. Parking is prohibited in Impasse Carmon. Vehicles must be parked in the direction of traffic.
Franklin Roosevelt Street is located in a 30 km/h zone, a limitation that is particularly important given the presence of the Saint-Joseph and de la Victoire schools. It is forbidden to travel against the traffic flow on Franklin Roosevelt Street. Bicycle traffic is permitted in both directions on Franklin Roosevelt Street, respecting traffic rules and with particular vigilance towards other users.
