The Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, Wallonia, and COCOF have jointly adopted the Intra-French Speaking Plan to Combat Violence Against Women (PViF) for the 2025-2029 period, announcing 45 key measures.

This ambitious plan aims to prevent violence, better protect victims, support perpetrators, and strengthen coordination of actions within the French-speaking territory. It addresses several forms of violence, including sexual violence, violence by (ex-)partners, gynecological and obstetric violence, forced marriages, honor-related violence, and female genital mutilation.
The development of the PViF involved extensive consultation with stakeholders, bringing together associations, specialists, administrations, and cabinets. Nearly 100 people participated in a consultation day at the end of 2024 to identify priority actions and essential needs.
This plan aligns with Belgium's international commitments, notably the Istanbul Convention, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), and the 2024 European directive on violence against women and domestic violence.
