Storm Austen did not spare the territory of the Commune of Celles. Severed cables, uprooted trees and branches, damage to the church of Celles: the gusts left some scars in the area.
On Friday, it was necessary to act quickly to secure our roads and prevent disaster. In just a few days, municipal workers cleared ditches and removed all vegetation obstructing the roadway or posing a potential obstacle to secure public property.
"Five men were in the field on Friday. Coordination was essential, particularly with Ores due to the cables that had fallen onto the road. Afterwards, it was time for the site assessment and repairs. Our department took all necessary measures to ensure that the passage of the storm left as few traces as possible on the entity," indicates Frédéric Maréchal, head of the works department.
The Commune of Celles is not letting the situation on rue du Haut-Hameau deteriorate. A police order will be issued this week to have the trees that threaten to collapse felled.
"If there are any other damages unknown to our services, you can contact the works department at 069/85.77.88," notes Frédéric Maréchal.
As All Saints' Day approaches, workers from the Commune of Celles also spruced up the six cemeteries in the area, from Popuelles to Escanaffles, from Pottes to Velaines. Their mission: to maintain, clean, and green these places of remembrance to embellish them and make them more pleasant.
Thank you to them for their valuable work...
