The Municipality of Celles maintains its anti-flood grant program, launched in 2024, offering technical support to residents for carrying out improvements and submitting subsidy applications.

The system implemented in 2024 to combat floods is still active in Celles. The Municipality offers personalized support to citizens wishing to protect their homes. A technician from the Escaut Lys River Contract (CREL) visits homes to conduct a precise diagnosis of the necessary work.
This diagnosis helps identify the improvements to be made in order to submit a grant application to the municipality. "It's the logical follow-up to the citizen meetings and the developments we've been undertaking for some time," explained Axelle Chantry when the initiative was launched in 2024.
The goal is to observe, listen, and propose the most effective tools to make homes less vulnerable. Numerous diagnostics have already been carried out by the CREL in Celles, thus confirming the commitment to move from discussion to action.
To benefit from this service, simply contact the Environment Department of the Commune of Celles by email at environnement@celles.be or by phone at +3269857789. It is also possible to contact the CREL directly at curi@crescautlys.be.
