This autumn, the Maison du Tourisme of Pays de Charleroi is celebrating local flavors with a social media campaign, inviting exploration of the region's beers, wines, juices, and producers.

This autumn, the Maison du Tourisme du Pays de Charleroi is launching a gourmet campaign on its social media channels to highlight local producers, artisans, notable establishments, and epicurean experiences in the region. The aim is to encourage discovery or rediscovery of Pays de Charleroi through its local products: beers, wines, fruit juices, as well as the shops and events that celebrate the terroir.
Beer, an undeniable part of the local landscape, is presented in various forms: blonde, white, triple, or more daring creations. Municipalities like Châtelet (Paulus), Farciennes (Farciennoise), Fleurus (Grande Cuvée, Mont-Soleil), and Gerpinnes (Cuvée Gerpinnoise, Sambre-et-Meuse, Caror) offer their specialties. Breweries such as Brasse-Temps in Charleroi, Zythologist, and Brasserie des Beaux-Jours (a Belgian-Québécois duo) bring their creative and traditional touch, with beers infused or inspired by New England IPAs. Numerous cafés and bars also feature these local beers.
Several beer-related events are scheduled for this autumn. On October 10th at 7:30 PM, Eric Boschman will present his show 'L’Âge de la Bière' at the Centre culturel d’Aiseau-Presles. On October 16th at 7:30 PM, the Musée des Marches Folkloriques de l’Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a concert and a tasting of the special beer 'L’Amusée'. On Saturday, October 17th, an experience combining sporting heritage and hoppy pleasures is offered during the Olympic Charleroi – RWDM match, including a stadium tour and a beer tasting (price: €20, reservation at +32 478 658 404). Brasserie Zythologist also hosts public brewing sessions on the first Sunday of each month.
Pays de Charleroi is also surprisingly becoming a wine-producing region. The Domaine du Blanc Cailloux benefits from a calcareous terroir. In Marcinelle, the Domaine Bois du Prince cultivates six hectares of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with the first harvests expected in 2026 and the first bottles in 2029. The Vignoble du Martinet and the work of La Petite Cueilleuse complement this wine production. On October 24th, Eric Boschman will lead a humorous and unconventional exploration of the palate at the Poche Théâtre with 'Le Goût du Blanc'.
For non-alcoholic flavors, local orchards take center stage. The Vergers de Fleurus cultivate over twenty varieties of apples, transformed into juices and sparkling drinks. At Bois Roussel, old Belgian varieties are pressed and bottled to produce authentic juice. The terroir can also be explored through the Balades Gourmandes de My Charleroi, a city walk punctuated by gourmet stops, or via Escape Game experiences offered by Hub4Fun and Escape Cook.
