An ambitious project for the production and storage of renewable energy is being considered at the CEVA Ground Logistics site, within the Orientis economic activity park in Ghislenghien.

Led by Etherr.a, the project involves installing photovoltaic canopies over the existing, fully asphalted car storage areas. Approximately 15 hectares will be covered by around 50,000 photovoltaic panels, with a total capacity of approximately 36 MWp.
The expected annual production is estimated at 34 GWh, equivalent to the consumption of about 9,800 households. The project also includes a park of 30 battery containers, offering a total storage capacity of 150 MWh.
These batteries will notably store a portion of the electricity produced during periods of high production and release it later, thus contributing to the balancing of the electrical grid. One of the project's particularities is its exclusive implementation on already developed surfaces, without new land artificialization.
