For the eighth time, the town of Comines-Warneton organized its annual drawing contest in partnership with the international network Mayors for Peace, which it joined in 2011.

This network, based in Hiroshima, works for nuclear disarmament and peace, currently bringing together 8589 member cities, including 393 in Belgium. Comines-Warneton, which aims to be a city of peace, has been associating itself with its activities for several years.
This year, the town received no fewer than 409 drawings from all the schools in the entity. Ten drawings were selected, five in the 6 to 10 years category and five in the 11 to 15 years category. These works have been sent to Hiroshima, with the hope that one of them will be rewarded.
