On October 16, 2026, the Provincial Technical Education High School (LPETH) in Saint-Ghislain organized a mobilization day for Pink October, bringing together students, teaching staff, and partners to support the fight against breast cancer.

Open to the public from 9 AM to 2 PM, the event featured creative workshops, activities, and solidarity sales. Students and visitors explored creations, participated in activities, and interacted with participating associations. Teams and young people from provincial institutions combined their skills with those of present partners, in an initiative where learning trades was enriched by sharing and caring for others.
Each section contributed its talents to the mobilization. The art section offered creative workshops and face painting, while the sales section presented and sold jewelry from the mini-company "Camée’Léon". 7th-year confectionery students created gourmet pralines in colors evoking skin tone diversity, sold to benefit Think Pink, linking expertise with breast cancer awareness.
The day also benefited from the collaboration of the aesthetics section of the Hornu-Colfontaine Provincial High School (LPHC) and the hairdressing section of the Provincial CEFA of Mons. For their first participation, the aesthetics students and teachers joined the project enthusiastically. Hairdressing students and teachers were present for the third consecutive year, demonstrating a commitment passed down through editions. Cathy Marine, CEFA coordinator, highlighted the young people's enthusiasm, also involved in the pedagogical salon of the Provincial Academy of Trades (APM) of Mons.
Emmanuelle Celsy, workshop manager at LPETH, emphasized the opportunity for students to discover other provincial teaching professions and build inter-institutional links. She noted the cohesion, mutual aid, and good humor resulting from this collective work.
Associations such as Bulle d’Ô and the ASBL Résiliance were present to inform about support for those affected by the illness. A board allowed everyone to leave words of encouragement. Young people can thus share the information gathered with their families, extending awareness beyond the school.
The program also included daily health activities, such as the game "Conquering the Food Pyramid," proposed by Proxial, a sustainable food project by the Province of Hainaut. Massages, stands from AMO and PMS, a photo booth, and the Miam-Miak stand completed the circuit.
The school's radio station amplified the mobilization. Luca, Mathieu, and Alexandro hosted discussions and conducted interviews. Testimonials will be featured in a podcast on the school radio and the Facebook page "Étudier en Hainaut – Radio d’École en Hainaut".
Alessio, a student in Advertising Trades Assistance, appreciated using his learning for an important cause and collaborating with other sections. This experience allowed young people to give concrete meaning to their studies. The provincial education system of Hainaut thus trained young people aware of the importance of using their talents for others.
